Liberation Cat House, founded by Jessica Harper, has been doing the good work for local felines since 2017. The small, nonprofit organization works to rescue and rehabilitate at-risk cats and kittens in the area, with an emphasis on safe adoption. (At least one Orlando Weekly staffer can vouch for their careful process from personal experience.) Their social media is chock-full of stellar adoptable cat content and their community outreach is tireless. You'll see them popping up at local events often in concert with compatriot org Brozanski for Cats.
As any live music fan knows, the state of the concert ticket industry is a disgrace. Unfortunately, the FTC's junk fee rule — set after various members of Congress just about died trying to purchase Taylor Swift tickets — only requires transparency on said fees; it doesn't reduce them. But here's a pro tip: If you want to see a show at any of the Dr. Phillips Center's lovely spaces, but you don't want to pay the extra $10, $15, $30 or whatever, all you have to do is walk up to their ticket window. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Easy! Worth it!

Self-described as "compassionate in-home pet euthanasia," CodaPet offers a service that no one wants to think about, but it's good to know it exists. This network of local veterinarians will come to your home when it's time to say goodbye to a beloved cat or dog, thereby sparing you and your pet the stress (and danger; have you ever tried to drive on I-4 while blinded by tears?) of traveling to a vet's office. Consider it a final appreciation of all you did for each other.
